Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday delivered a stern warning to Iran, vowing to pursue the ongoing conflict ‘with all our force’ and revealing that Israel has a ‘systematic plan’ to topple the Iranian regime. Speaking at a press conference in Jerusalem, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel would not back down in its efforts to counter what it perceives as a significant threat to its security and regional stability.
‘Iran’s aggression and its pursuit of nuclear capabilities pose an existential threat to Israel and the entire world,’ Netanyahu stated. ‘We have a clear and systematic plan to address this threat, and we will execute it with determination and precision.’
The Israeli leader’s comments come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, following a series of recent confrontations between Israel and Iran-backed groups. Earlier this month, Israel conducted airstrikes on Iranian military targets in Syria, reportedly in response to Iranian attempts to establish a military presence near its borders.
Netanyahu’s remarks also follow reports of increased Israeli intelligence activities targeting Iran’s nuclear program. While Israel has not officially acknowledged these operations, analysts suggest they are part of a broader strategy to delay or disrupt Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
The international community has expressed growing concern over the escalating conflict. United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres urged both sides to exercise restraint, warning that further escalation could have ‘devastating consequences’ for the region.
Meanwhile, Iran has condemned Netanyahu’s statements, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh calling them ‘provocative and dangerous.’ Khatibzadeh reiterated Iran’s stance that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and accused Israel of seeking to destabilize the region.
As tensions continue to rise, experts warn that the conflict could spill over into a broader regional war, drawing in other Middle Eastern powers and potentially involving global superpowers. The situation remains fluid, with both sides showing no signs of backing down.
Netanyahu concluded his remarks by emphasizing Israel’s resolve: ‘We will not allow Iran to threaten our existence. We have the capability, the will, and now the plan to ensure our security and protect our future.’
