The Biden administration withdraws the Trump-era immigration policy that drives migrants across borders

Washington: On Friday Biden Government has announced it is cancelling the immigration policy that made it harder for migrants to seek protection by United States in the name of fighting the pandemic.

Trump-era policy will end on May 23. As per the information from the CDC, the order not needed anymore after taking the present public health conditions into considerations.

In the year 2020, the former president Donald Trump has introduced this policy with the name Title 42, this policy was created to protect the public health.

With the latest statistics from DHS, more than a million individuals have been expelled with help of this policy. Until the health order is lifed DHS will continue to expel evey single adult and families encountered at the border.

The standard procedure will begin as soon as the order is lifted.

" We are aware of the smulgglers who will spread the wrong information to take the advantage of vulnerable migrants" said by Mayorkas in the satement. Also added that " those, who unable to establish a legal basis to be in United Staes will be removed."

We might not expect a immediate closing of policy because the administration is implementing a vaccine program to get migrants vaccinated at the borders.

This program has began this week at 11 locations also at the United States and Mexico border. On an average more than 2,000 vaccines are given daily. This program is going to expand to other 27 locations along the border.

DHS and officials of State Department said that "It is hard to predict the count of migrants who are waiting in Mexico" DHS is making necessary requirements to increase border crossings in more remote areas such as Del Rio, Arizona, Yuma and Texas.
